Ground Enhancement Material
Ultrafill - Earth (Ground) Enhancement Material
Ultrafill is a low resistance carbon based backfill material, which dramatically lowers ground system resistance in difficult soil situations. Ultrafill contains no bentonite or concrete components, which, in very dry conditions, can cause shrinkage around the ground electrode, thus rendering it ineffective.
Ultrafill is ideal for use in rocky soil, sand, gravel or any other high resistance soil conditions. It is also the ideal backfill material for use around enhanced ground rods and ground grid systems.
Ultrafill is easy to use, safe and effective. Unlike other backfill products, Ultrafill is relatively dust free
and does not require mixing in water prior to installation. (However, Ultrafill does mix readily with water if required).
Ultrafill may be either used in a horizontal trench or grid, or in vertical applications.
Installation Instructions
Vertical Applications:
1. Auger hole to required depth.
2. Insert electrode in center of hole.
3. Pour Ultrafill to proper depth.
4. The chart located to the right will help determine how much Ultrafill will be required.

For example, placing a 5/8" x 10' ground rod in a 4" hole would require 63 pounds of Ultrafill.
Horizontal Applications:
1. Pour enough Ultrafill to cover bottom of trench.
2. Place the ground electrode into trench.
3. Pour in additional Ultrafill to cover electrode to the desired depth.
4. The chart located to the right will help determine how much Ultrafill will be required.

Liquid Mixing Instructions:
If mixing Ultrafill into a slurry form, use 3 to 3-1/2 gallons of water per bag of Ultrafill. To facilitate ease of mixing, we recommend the use of a standard cement mixer.
